Image Roble 2011

( The photo shows 2012 vintage but I tried 2011)

14% Vol

Region:  Vino de Tierra de Castilla

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah

Notes: It took about half an hour for the wine to open after opening the bottle. It has dark cherry colour and you can definitively taste both grapes coming through, the Cabernet is the more dominate but the Syrah does its job to round the wine off. The cherry aroma is pleasant but not overly fruit driven, though on the palate has medium-heavy weight and slightly peppery finish. The fruit is tasting of dark mix berries (mainly cherry, maybe hint of blackberry) and dark dense overtones from the cabernet. This wine is quite acceptable considering the price and the fact it is blended. I would enjoy with BBQ, a hearty stew and strong cheese.
